Hole 1
Par 4 | Yards: 440 | Handicap: 13
The first hole of our Championship Course plays downhill, providing one of the best views of the Potomac River and stunning Maryland shore. A fairway metal or hybrid into the fairway will leave a short to mid iron into the green. Hitting your approach on the correct section of the green will present a good opportunity for a birdie.
Hole 2
Par 5 | Yards: 578 | Handicap: 9
As we move towards the mighty Potomac, the wind begins to have more influence and its direction will dictate whether players can reach this par 5 in two shots. Players laying up will be best served to favor the left side of the fairway, opening up a good angle to a large sloping green. Keep your approach below the hole, as missing long will likely cost you a stroke.
Hole 3
Par 3 | Yards: 238 | Handicap: 15
Hole 3, the first of several challenging par 3s, begins the toughest stretch of holes on the front nine. This hole forces a carry over water into prevailing wind to a well-protected green with large bunkers on both sides. Although this hole does not yield many birdies, finding the putting surface off the tee is typically rewarded with a par.
Hole 4
Par 4 | Yards: 508 | Handicap: 1
A good drive on hole 4 challenges the bunkers on the left, providing the best angle to this green. Miss the fairway and your second shot is not likely to find the putting surface. Short and left of the green serves as a popular bail out position to avoid the deep bunkers short and right of the green. Par is a very good score on this hole.
Hole 5
Par 4 | Yards: 445 | Handicap: 5/7
This long par 4 moves gently right to left. A drive down the left center of the fairway will gain a few extra yards of roll, leaving a mid-iron approach to this tricky, well-protected green. A deep bunker and a treacherous collection area guard the left side, making short and right a popular spot for approach shots.
Hole 6
Par 5 | Yards: 583 | Handicap: 7/5
Hole 6 is a tight three-shot par 5 with penal rough on the right and penalty area on the left. A tee shot to the right side of the fairway provides the best angle for your second shot. The small undulated green is protected by deep bunkers on the right and left, demanding precision with your third shot in order to set up your first birdie opportunity in a few holes.
Hole 7
Par 4 | Yards: 461 | Handicap: 3/5
Enjoy stunning views along the shores of the Potomac River, but don’t lose focus on the task at hand. You must navigate the fairway bunkers off the tee to have any chance of hitting this green in regulation. This green is traditionally firm and tough to hold. Many golfers will opt to leave their approach on the front part and two putt for par.
Hole 8
Par 4 | Yards: 310 | Handicap: 17
Hole 8 is a great risk-reward par 4 that can yield scores from eagle to double bogey. Wind direction and pin location will determine player’s club selection from the tee. A large mound protects the front right of the green, sending many shots to the collection area left of the green. Two good shots will provide your best birdie opportunity.
Hole 9
Par 3 | Yards: 234 | Handicap: 11
One of the shortest holes on the Championship Course, but far from the easiest. With the tee hanging just off the Potomac River, the green is a mere sliver squeezed between a deep bunker on the right, a steep slope and collection area to the back, and the Potomac River to the left. If you don’t find the correct level of this two-tiered green, a three putt is likely.
Hole 10
Par 4 | Yards: 462 | Handicap: 14/12
One of the shorter par 4s on the Championship Course, Hole 10 features a bunker bisecting the fairway and two different green sites. The location of the flagstick will determine which fairway you play. An approach from the fairway is a must to either green, as they both present challenging sloping targets.
Hole 11
Par 4 | Yards: 482 | Handicap: 2
The first of three very difficult par 4s on the back nine demands a long straight tee ball avoiding the deep bunker on the right in order to have a chance of hitting this green in regulation. If you find the fairway, you are then faced with a long uphill approach with little margin for error. Avoid the deepest bunker on the course, to the right of the green, at all costs. Par is a premium here.
Hole 12
Par 5 | Yards: 590 | Handicap: 10/4
Three good shots leave you with a chance for a rare birdie on the back nine, but you must navigate the lake down the entire left side, the fairway and greenside bunkers, and the multitiered and undulating green. You must find the correct section of the green or work hard just to two-putt.
Hole 13
Par 4 | Yards: 471 | Handicap: 6/14
The next challenging par 4 on the back nine requires a drive in the fairway navigating fairway bunkers on both sides, as well as a lake on the left. Take an extra club on the approach to get your ball all the way to the hole. Miss the green right, left, or long, and you will be faced with a challenging up and down to save your par.
Hole 14
Par 3 | Yards: 210 | Handicap: 18
The shortest hole on the course has one of the most difficult green complexes, and if the wind is blowing, it will feel much longer. If you don’t find the correct section of the green, you will be forced to play defense and hope for a par. If you do find the correct section of the green, you will have a great opportunity for birdie.
Hole 15
Par 4 | Yards: 476 | Handicap: 4/8
The most difficult hole on the course and the last of the challenging par 4s on the back nine, Hole 15 plays into the prevailing wind. Framing the tee shot is the Potomac River on the right and a well-placed, very deep fairway bunker on the left. A tee ball on the left side provides the best angle to this large undulated green, with a false front on the right. The rough short and right collects many errant approach shots. Hit the green and stay below the hole, and you may find a well-earned birdie.
Hole 16
Par 3 | Yards: 249 | Handicap: 16
Don’t let the stunning clubhouse view in the background distract you. This is a difficult par 3 that requires your full attention. Depending on your navigation of the deep bunkers, steep slopes, and undulated green, you can make a two or a five here. A valley divides the green from front to back, making shot placement on the proper side of the green paramount to making a good score on Hole 16.
Hole 17
Par 5 | Yards: 555 | Handicap: 8/10
Approach the finish with this exciting risk reward hole, reachable in two shots if you challenge the lake down the left then cut the corner of the lake over the deep greenside bunker in the front of the green. Once aboard, you are faced with a large putting surface tilted back to front with several shelves and knobs to challenge every putt.
Hole 18
Par 4 | Yards: 501 | Handicap: 12/6
Hole 18 is a stout par 4 that requires an accurate shot off the tee to stay short of the bunkers on both sides of the fairway. The approach plays up the hill towards the water sculpture, requiring at least one full club more. Finding the correct level on this green is the key to seeing a makeable birdie putt.

Hole 1
Par 4 | Yards: 455 | Handicap: 5/3
Our gorgeous Riverview Course begins with a medium length par 4 headed into the hills. The tee shot looks wide open, but the hole narrows quickly to a skinny green protected by a creek on the left and behind. If you hit the green in regulation, you will have a chance to start your round with a birdie!
Hole 2
Par 3 | Yards: 218 | Handicap: 17
Despite the yardage, this short hole can be quite challenging. The creek runs along the left side of the green, sending any wayward shots into the penalty area. If you manage to hit your short to mid iron the correct distance, you will have another birdie opportunity.
Hole 3
Par 4 | Yards: 375 | Handicap: 13
Hole 3 is the first of three great risk reward par 4s on the Riverview Course. A steep slope on the left and a bunker and penalty area on the right make a precise tee ball imperative. Long hitters can go for the green, but miss in the bunker or past the pin, and you will be fortunate to escape with a par.
Hole 4
Par 4 | Yards: 431 | Handicap: 1/5
With the tee box perched high above the fairway, you enjoy a beautiful view of the property from Hole 4. This fairway has many slopes and slants that make finding a level lie nearly impossible. The green is large but challenging, with most putts breaking away from the hill on the right side of the hole.
Hole 5
Par 5 | Yards: 611 | Handicap: 9/7
Discover another beautiful view from the tee box of Hole 5, where you enjoy your first glimpse of the majestic Potomac River. This downhill par 5 plays shorter than the yardage if you can hit the fairway. The two-tiered green requires an approach to the correct section in order to avoid a three putt.
Hole 6
Par 4 | Yards: 321 | Handicap: 11
This short, uphill par 4 forces you to make a decision on the tee. Will you be aggressive and potentially make an eagle, or will you lay up and try to avoid making a big number? The green is slightly elevated and well protected with bunkers, penalty area, and fescue surrounding the back, left, and right sides. Employ the proper strategy and you will be rewarded with a birdie.
Hole 7
Par 3 | Yards: 213 | Handicap: 15
This slightly downhill par three has a huge green. Take note of the wind here as it will affect your shot. If you can avoid the bunkers and find the putting surface while staying below the hole, you will have a chance to make a two.
Hole 8
Par 5 | Yards: 645 | Handicap: 3/1
As the longest hole on the property, Hole 8 presents many challenges from the tee to the green. Whether you choose to lay up or go for the green, you are faced with a forced carry over the lake, so a drive in the fairway is a must. The green is on a peninsula and the front edge to the back edge will play more than a four club difference.
Hole 9
Par 4 | Yards: 445 | Handicap: 7/9
With bunkers on both sides of the fairway, this middle length par 4 can be visually intimidating. The green is small and undulated, but if you find the correct section with your approach, you can finish the front nine with a birdie!
Hole 10
Par 4 | Yards: 394 | Handicap: 8/14
The back nine begins with a middle length par 4 that moves gently from right to left and up the hill. Thread your tee shot between the bunkers on the right and left of the fairway, and you will have a short iron or wedge for your approach. The green is elevated and undulated, putting a premium on accuracy.
Hole 11
Par 5 | Yards: 516 | Handicap: 10/2
This S-shaped par 5 is only reachable for the longest and boldest hitters. A tee shot up the left will challenge the lake and provide a great angle for the next shot. You must avoid the lake on your second shot to have a chance to reach the green. The location of the pin will determine the difficulty of your approach. Beware of the bowl on the left that collects many iron shots.
Hole 12
Par 4 | Yards: 346 | Handicap: 14/10
This short par 4 presents another risk-reward opportunity. Long hitters can reach the green with a driver while navigating the lake on the left, a deep bunker on the right, and a shallow green with more slope than there appears. A birdie or better is possible if you can negotiate all of the risks.
Hole 13
Par 3 | Yards: 196 | Handicap: 18/16
This par 3 sits with the lake to the left and the 12th green in the distance. A mid to long iron off the tee must avoid the large mound on the front left and the bunker on the front right. The putting surface is fairly flat and long is better than short.
Hole 14
Par 5 | Yards: 524 | Handicap: 12/4
This par 5 keeps you close to the lake with water down the entire right side of the hole. A long fairway bunker on the left will collect layups that bail away from the lake. Keep your shot below the hole and you will have a reasonable chance for a birdie or better!
Hole 15
Par 4 | Yards: 439 | Handicap: 2/8
Hole 15 might be the most difficult hole on the back nine, as a long par 4 that demands accuracy and distance off the tee with water on the right and a fairway bunker down the left. The green is nestled next to the water with a mound and deep bunker guarding the left side. If you manage to reach in regulation, take your two putts and run away with a par.
Hole 16
Par 4 | Yards: 439 | Handicap: 4/6
On Hole 16, a semi-blind tee shot requires you to navigate a long fairway on the right and a perfectly placed pot bunker on the left. The green is protected by a mound in front, a bunker to the left, and a collection area to the right. An approach that finishes above the hole will surely lead to a three putt.
Hole 17
Par 3 | Yards: 183 | Handicap: 16/18
Hole 17 is set back in the trees, making it difficult to calculate the wind direction, so choose your club wisely on this par 3. If you intend to escape with a par, you will want to avoid the bunkers in the front and left and a collection area in the back.
Hole 18
Par 4 | Yards: 483 | Handicap: 6/12
The Riverview Course finishes with a long, difficult par 4. Framing the tee shot is a penalty area down the entire right side and a long fairway bunker on the left. There is a hidden bunker short and right that will collect any approach shots that are not hit the proper distance. There is also a bunker on the left of the green that proves very difficult to escape from. A par on this finishing hole should leave you feeling great about your round.
